Jimmy Kimmel is getting into the weeds on his next project!
PEOPLE can exclusively reveal the trailer for 4X20: Quick Hits, Hulu’s upcoming cannabis-focused docuseries from the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host’s production company, Kimmelot.
The anthology series, covering the “world’s most beloved plant,” will feature four, 20-minute films. Each will focus on a different element in the history of cannabis culture, per a description from the streamer, and drop on April 20.
“Christmas has a whole cable channel dedicated to holiday programming. For 4/20, we made four 20 minute-long documentaries for those who celebrate with trees of a different kind,” Kimmel, who executive produced the project alongside Scott Lonker, tells PEOPLE in a statement.

The docuseries consists of four different films. “Highly Unlikely,” directed by Brent Hodge, recounts the lore behind the hit 2004 comedy, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle. “High Times,” directed by Kyle Thrash, follows the story of High Times Magazine and founder, Tom Forcade.
Then there’s “The Legend of Ganjasaurus Rex,” directed by Alex Ross Perry, which covers the 1987 cult film and how it became “a beloved local legend” in California in the years to follow. “Bong Voyage,” directed by Todd Kapostasy, then follows the story of hand-blown glass artist Jason Harris. Each was overseen by producer Adam M. Goldberg.
The series’ trailer features appearances from Neil Patrick Harris, John Cho, Kal Penn, Tommy Chong and several others involved in the doc’s corresponding films and projects.
“I love that we’re having a conversation about how this fit into our cultural zeitgeist,” Harris, who starred as himself in Harold & Kumar, says in the clip.

Kimmel has been known to feature segments on marijuana on his talk show over the years, including “Who’s High,” in which he guesses who among a select few strangers is under the influence of the drug. In 2024, he executive produced Hulu’s High Hopes, a six-episode docuseries following the operation behind a cannabis business in Los Angeles.
During a 2018 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, while chatting with Seth Rogen, Kimmel teased his “Mt. Rushmore of people to smoke with.” His list included Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, Woody Harrelson and Rogen himself — who he said may have “bumped Cheech & Chong off.”
4X20: Quick Hits arrives on Hulu on April 20.
